Timo Scheider barely misses podium

Two top-ten positions in Brazil
Timo Scheider barely misses podium

DTM:
For the first time this year Timo Scheider was the best Audi driver in a DTM race. At the Nürburgring the title defender in his Audi A4 DTM occupied fourth place and thus barely missed the podium. Mattias Ekström commandingly secured the pole position but dropped to seventh place at the start on Sunday and was unable to improve again afterwards. Scheider and Ekström were the only two Audi drivers to finish in the points at the Nürburgring. The best driver of a 2008-specification A4 was Mike Rockenfeller in ninth place.

Successful Asian debut of the Audi R8 LMS
12-hour race Sepang: Successful Asian debut of the Audi R8 LMS: Frank Biela, Darryl O’Young and Marco Werner finished the “Merdeka Millennium Endurance Race” at the Formula 1 circuit at Sepang (Malaysia) as the overall runners-up with merely a one-lap gap behind the victorious Lamborghini. The 12-hour race at Sepang was started at midnight and ended at twelve noon, local time, on Sunday. Audi Race Experience Team Joest lost valuable time due to an unscheduled change of the brake discs. Except for that, the Audi R8 LMS was running like clockwork in sweltering heat.

Two top-ten positions in Brazil
GT3 Brazil: In their second racing commitment in the Brazilian GT3 Championship at Sao Paulo, Andreas Mattheis and Xandy Negrão took places five and eight in the Audi R8 LMS supported by Abt Sportsline. They had started to both rounds from grid position twelve.
