Audi Club's K.L. Makan & B-Road Drive Weekend (13-15 Mar 2010)


Nearly 1000km of round trip driving including a challenging B-road drive up near KL.
VIP treatment at the KLCC Impiana hotel wtih reserved secure parking for cars.
The spa in the hotel is excellent also and of very high standard!

Two free Makan dinners and Lunches provided for by Audi Club for Members + Family on the trip.

Great friends, superb families and the best of company make this Audi Club trip to be remembered.

Audi Club would like to convey a gracious a big thank you for participating and making the event a success.

It was too dangerous to take picture during b-road as everything in the car was flying from left to right and right to left including my tissue box on non-slip matt. Wonder what happend to Gomez GPS on non-slip.

After the drive and a good rest, it was dinner time! This time we were going to Hakka Restaurant within walking distance from our hotel.

We were lead into a private aircon room with 4 tables upon arrival. How nice!

Dinner was excellent. We (Doug, Darrien, Me, Thomas) left after that and drove back to Singapore. The rest staying on one more day and coming back on Mon.

This is a very well plan event and all those who are reading this but not with us during this trip should join us the next time.

My new ride is still on order and hopefully arrives 2H May, so I couldn't partake in this adventure as much as I would have liked to.

I could not help noticing a couple of these cars had full bra and mirror bra kits... are these ordered in from overseas or custom made here ? Any details appreciated.

But more importantly, with the roads you were on, are stone chips really a problem ?

Welcome!

We call that tape the Durex tape. Best to ask Ju Ming as he is the most a n a l about his tape.

As for stone chips... well, it can happen, but most of the time it is more like sand and little pebble chips. Your paint work will be affected especially if you are trailing a quattro. You may want to also look into heavy duty Lamin-X protective shielding for the head lights and fog if you are heavily concerned about looks and intend to B-road as they took can get hazy from too many B-road drives.

Hello Graham,

You can put a thin laminated plastic sheet to protect your paint work and the front of your car. I have had it on for 2.5 years and the paint work is still in it's original condition. I also have the headlights protect with a a thicker plastic covering. There are no chip on the bonnet whatsoever as it protect it very well. I must say that's the best investment I have ever made thus far...apart from the car :D

I had mine install in Kuala Lumpur in a company call Paint Shield. There are some install in S'pore but not sure which is a reliable and has good product.
