Audi hands over 100,000th new car this year in Germany
Delivery record at the Audi Forums in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm
One in every three Audi customers in Germany collects their car in person at the factory
Head of Marketing Michael Renz: “Customers identify strongly with the Audi brand”
New-car deliveries at the Audi Forums in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm set a new record in 2009, with the carmaker handing over more than 100,000 cars this year to customers at both locations for the first time in the company’s history.
“One in every three Audi customers already picks up their new car at one of the two German Audi locations,” said Michael Renz, Head of Marketing for Germany at Audi. “This statistic underscores how strongly our customers identify with the Audi brand.”
This is also true for customer Christian Schoppe, who ordered his Audi A5 Sportback 2.0 TFSI in Amethyst Gray at the Audi Center in Regensburg. As the 100,000th customer to collect his car in person in 2009, he was handed the keys to his new car by Michael Renz himself.
Alongside the handover of the car as the main highlight of the day, the Audi Forum Ingolstadt and Audi Forum Neckarsulm offer a diverse program of events in conjunction with car delivery. For example, Audi customers have the opportunity to view the manufacturing process up close during a tour through production. Children and young people can participate in an interactive quiz game and try out driving simulators on a special adventure trail. The journey through the world of the four rings is rounded out by culinary delights and products on offer at the Audi Shop.
In addition, extremely rare cars are currently on display at the Audi museum mobile in Ingolstadt. An exhibit entitled “The Family Silver – the Auto Union Silver Arrow and its Competitors” includes a one-of-a-kind collection of famous racecars from the 1930s, and can be viewed until the end of March.
Audi customers are also enthusiastic about an optional program that’s part of the premium collection service at the Audi Forums in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm. Moreover, all customers who collect their new cars are offered the chance to book additional services as part of a customized delivery, allowing them to arrange their day with Audi exactly they want it.
The new delivery record for Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm surpasses the previous record set in 1996, when about 96,000 cars were handed over at the two German locations. On peak days this year, up to 300 cars were collected in Ingolstadt, and up to 150 in Neckarsulm.
